Notifications Suck!

Notifications Suck!

Yesterday I mentioned KDE 4.2 included something rather stupid.  Let’s just say, notifications suck!  If, like me, you’ve got a large number of images you want to sort through and you’re use to scanning quickly through them having a notification pop up once for every image, and stay there for ~10 seconds, means eventually you have a string of utterly unnecessary notifications blocking out a part of your screen.  No problem, just turn them off, right?  There is no way to turn them off! It is constant facepalming behavior like this out of the KDE project that has me courting GNome or XFCE again.  Do these people engage in dogfooding? I doubt it because this is trivial stuff you simply don’t put in a stable release!
